שיעור הילדים ההרוגים בתאונות דרכים בישראל הוא מהגבוהים באירופה. כדי לשנות את הנתון הקשה הזה אנו בעמותת אור ירוק מפעילים את תכנית "ילד מלווה" - פרויקט חינוכי שמכשיר את ילדים בגילי בתי הספר היסודיים להיות סוכני ונאמני בטיחות בדרכים בקרב ההורים והמשפחה - ולא רק משתמשי דרך בטוחים.
התכנים המרכזיים של התוכנית הנתמכת על ידי חברת פריסבי עוסקים בנסיעה בטוחה ברכב המשפחתי ובעיקר בחשיבות חגירת חגורות בטיחות. בנוסף, שמים דגש על פעילות בנושא חצית כביש בטוחה, רכיבה נכונה על אופניים וקורקינטים עם אביזרי הבטיחות המתאימים ובעיקר חשיבות חבישת קסדה.
מטרת הפרויקט היא לייצר דור חדש שמודע לחשיבות של השמירה על הבטיחות בדרכים ומעביר את הידע גם להורים באופן אקטיבי. במקביל לפעילות ילדי ישראל יכולים לאסוף מסניפי פריסבי שלטי "ילד/ה מלווה", בדומה לשלט "נהג חדש", ולהעלות את התמונות שלהם לממשק מיוחד באתר מאקו. הצילומים הנבחרים יופיעו על מסך קשת 12.
